This class is about recognising the vital importance of having strong foundations in order to grow.

On the mat, this theme shows up on a physical level as we focus on pressing into the ground in order to fire up stabilising muscles that protect us from collapsing into the joints.

This shows up in pretty much every yoga pose! But in particular we’ll focus on creating shoulder stability in vaschistasana (side plank).

So what does ‘Rooting Down to Rise Up’ look like off the mat?

For me, it’s about addressing & prioritising the vital essentials in your life as a source of strength, for example: good sleep, drinking enough water, exercising and connection.

It may sound obvious but it can be easy to forget how an imbalance in any of these vital essentials can impact how we feel physically & mentally.

Just looking to these areas and checking in with how you’re doing in each one can be helpful preparation for (re)building strength to take that first step forward in an area of your life.
